Terminator: Dark Fate | Virtual Production
Terminator Dark Fate Fulvio Sestito

Fulvio Sestito joined director and long time mentor Tim Miller and the team at Blur Studios to visualize the main sequences of the film utilizing the latest virtual production technologies for Terminator Dark Fate.

The film stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Sarah Connor and the T-800 Terminator, respectively, reuniting the actors after 23 years. It introduces Mackenzie DavisNatalia ReyesGabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta as new characters.

Fulvio joined Miller and the Blur team at the very early stages of pre-production in Los Angeles to begin visualizing sequences and explore ideas. Working with the writers and filmmakers early on, gave the visualization team complete freedom to explore interesting ideas without constraints. During one of the most exciting sequences in the film, our heroes are attacked by the new terminator while flying on a stolen C5 military cargo plane. The digital visualization team worked closely with military advisors and aerospace engineers to create one of the most realistic simulation of a massive military plane going down.  Principal photography took place from June to November 2018 in Hungary, Spain, and the United States. The film is distributed by Paramount Pictures and produced by franchise creator James Cameron and  David Ellison, from Skydance Productions.
